So I was a big fan of konsole in kde3. I would have 6-10 konsoles open, each with 4-20 tabs. They redesigned it for kde4 to make it more "user friendly". This means they took out: bell no longer changes tab icon, can't set tab title if you use ssh, removed the feature "send input to all tabs". Maybe I can get the kde3 version working ( Read more... )

Last weekend, my parents came up to help me move. The movers came on Saturday to move all the furniture, and we moved the rest of the stuff in two car trips. Now I'm all moved out of my apartment, and it's nice and clean. My lease is up the end of this month ( Read more... )

I'm taking a car load of stuff from my apartment to my house every day. I've cleaned out my bathroom and bedroom closet. Right now I'm sleeping on an air mattress. After I move all my little things, I'm going to hire movers to take care of the furniture.

One thing I've learned is that nobody's "move my service" web forms work right.

SEA-ME-WE 4 and FLAG are both fiber optic cables that run from Europe to Asia. They are mostly under water, with runs across land when they have to. Today, I got a complaint that this one customer keeps on getting alerts about his monitoring agent checks failing with a connection refused error message. I look into it, and the (windows) event log is full of start/stop messages for the agent. It's a been awhile since I updated last. Quick summary of what's going on: I went to NJ last weekend to see my cousin get married. It was a nice wedding and I got my boogie on. It was also nice to see all my relatives on my dad's side of the family. I haven't seen them all in one place in years. This brings me up to 3 weddings for the year. ( Read more... )
